Outside of the Gala, Edward took off his guard hat and gloves. Reaching into his right pocket, he pulled out several jewels. Rings, necklaces, and cuffs. He laughed to himself.
“And there we are. Not that much, but enough to get me a decent suit again and maybe the type of dinner such a heist deserves. And that was…”
He counted again in his head.
“Five people successfully pocketed during the ‘security check’.”
From his left pocket, he pulled out seven pieces of paper, each green with a purple question mark on them.
“Really thought that I’d get all seven distributed. Still, the looks on their faces when they check their purses and find those little questions.”
He let the jewels run from one hand to the other. “Not my fault that they couldn’t figure out all the hints I was dropping that I wasn’t a real security guard.”
Edward leaned back and smiled broadly. “Right about now, at least one patron is realizing she was robbed. And she’s telling a guard. The guards will go to help her and…”
The plan was going perfectly. It was the world’s greatest heist, and all it took was a marker and a notebook.
“Mraow?” Isis sat to his right, watching the emerald glad man curiously, almost unimpressed with his antics. When he looked at her, she meowed again and then headed off towards the fire escape, stopping just before she got to it. Looking back at him she meowed one more time and then vanished up the fire escape, this wasn’t where he was meant to be and obviously she knew that.
Selina was sitting in her vantage point, crosslegged and grinning as Isis appeared from the fire escape. The feline pranced to her owner and leapt into her arms, cuddling up to her as Selina chuckled.
“And where is our guest?”
